BUZZ: ‘The Bachelor’ season 27 contestants include Upstate NY woman; more

‘The Bachelor’ season 27 contestants include Upstate NY woman

A woman from Upstate New York is looking for love on “The Bachelor.” Olivia Lewis, a Churchville-Chili High School alumna, is one of 30 ladies competing for season 27 hunk Zach Shallcross’ heart, according to her Facebook page and ABC’s official website. Lewis, 24, will be known on the reality show as “Olivia L.” — there’s also an “Olivia M.” on this season — and her bio says she’s a patient care technician in Rochester.

“For Olivia L., basketball has always come easy. The one game she’s yet to win is Olivia vs. True Love, and this baller is here to find her teammate for LIFE! While basketball was her first love, she’s built a life outside of her sport, working full-time in healthcare, and has her dreams set on helping others as a physician assistant,” her “Bachelor” profile says. “She is looking forward to meeting Zach and is hoping to find a relationship that will stand the test of time.”

Her “fun facts” include yelling at people who litter and being inspired to work in the medical field by watching “Grey’s Anatomy.” Her Facebook page says she also attended the University of Hartford in Connecticut and the University at Buffalo (UB).

Shallcross, who appeared on season 19 of “The Bachelorette” with Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, is a 26-year-old tech executive from Anaheim Hills, California. The “old-fashioned romantic” met several of this season’s contestants on “The Bachelorette” finale last year, and viewers voted for Briana — an entrepreneur from New Jersey — to receive the “Bachelor Nation” franchise’s first-ever “America’s First Impression Rose,” making her safe from elimination in the first week.

Other contestants include a rodeo racer, a professional dancer, a nanny, and several nurses. A trailer shows one of the women threatening to “burn this house down” if she doesn’t get a rose.

“The Bachelor” season 27, hosted by Jesse Palmer, premieres Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. on ABC; episodes will also be available on Hulu. See Olivia’s Instagram at @itslivlew.
