Mohawk, N.Y. — A 26-year-old woman was listed in critical condition at a Utica hospital Wednesday after she was found with multiple stab wounds, troopers said.
State and village police found Tkeyah LaPlante with wounds to her chest around 2:34 p.m. outside a home at 30 East Main St. in Mohawk, Herkimer County, said Trooper Jack Keller, a spokesman for state police.
LaPlante was immediately taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Keller said.
Troopers found 21-year-old Taylor E. Goodhines near the scene and arrested her without incident, Keller said. Goodhines lived down the street, he said.
Goodhines was charged with:
- Second-degree attempted murder
- First-degree assault
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
She is being held in the Herkimer County Jail on $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 bond, Keller said.
