    Complaint filed against Anurag Kashyap’s short film ‘Ghost Stories’, controversy over this scene

    A complaint has been lodged against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s short film Ghost Stories. This series premiered on Netflix.

    Till now there was no censor board restriction on OTT platform. But in the year 2021, rules have been made to monitor the content of the OTT platform. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has made information technology rules. Under this, the complaints coming about the OTT platform will be removed. It’s been a few months since this rule came into force and the first complaint has come. This complaint is against Anurag Kashyap.

     

    The rules regarding the censorship of OTT have come into force only a few months back. Anurag Kashyap’s short film Ghost Stories was released on Netflix in the year 2020. A complaint has been lodged against Anurag Kashyap regarding this film. Netflix India has received the first complaint a few months after the rules came into force.

    Objected Scene of Ghost Stories

    According to the report of Mid Day, the complainant has objected to a scene of actress Shobhita Dhulipala. In that scene, Shobhita is seen eating fetus after miscarriage. It has been said in the complaint that there was no need in the story of this scene and if the makers wanted to add this scene, then they should have given a warning to the women who have gone through the pain of miscarriage.

    According to the report, after registering the complaint within 24 hours, it will have to be resolved at the earliest. A Netflix India spokesperson has said that because it was a partner managed production. We have spoken to the production company and informed them about the complaint.

    Ghost Stories was directed by Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar. It will be released in the year 2020 on the occasion of New Year.
