Ralph Dandrea on leadership: Imagine the future, guide your team, give them the credit for creating it

Ralph Dandrea says he started his company because he wanted to solve interesting software problems. Before long, he had more problems than he could solve himself. “So I built a team of problem solvers,” he said. “And now we build custom software products for other companies.”

He named his company ITX. The company, headquartered in downtown Rochester, turned 25 years old in 2022. ITX employs nearly 300 people, most of whom were already working remotely before the pandemic. The company has customers in 40-some states and a dozen countries. “Hundreds of millions of people have interacted with our products,” said Dandrea, CEO and chairman of ITX. “They might not know it’s us they’re interacting with because we’re doing the work for bigger names.”
