The Spanish Super Cup or Supercopa de España begins with a matchup between Real Madrid and Valencia at King Fahd Stadium in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, January 11 (1/11/2023) at 2 p.m. ET.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 in the United States, and can be streamed live on fuboTV (free trial), Sling (half off your first month) and other live TV services.
The Super Cup is an annual four-team tournament contested by the winners and runners up of both La Liga and the Copa Del Rey. This year, 2021-22 La Liga winner Real Madrid faces off first with Valencia, the runner up in the 2021-22 Copa Del Rey. On Thursday, Copa winner Real Betis will face off against La Liga runner up Barcelona.
The tournament has been held in Saudi Arabia since 2019. Real Madrid has won 12 times, and is the defending champion. They are second only to Barcelona at 13 wins. Valencia has won just once, in 1999, and Real Betis has only participated, but never won.
