Sponsored Messages feature is coming in Telegram.

A new sponsored messages feature is coming to the instant messaging platform Telegram and with the help of this feature, users will be able to promote their channels and bots. The company has told that even after the arrival of the Sponsored Messages feature, no ads will be shown to the users during chatting. According to Telegram, these sponsored messages will not be shown in the chat list of users, their private chats or groups.

Messages will be visible in big public one-to-many channels

The messaging company has said that sponsored messages will be visible only in large public one-to-many channels with more than 1000 members. Apart from this, it has been clarified that the company will not use user data to show ads. Instead, users will be shown sponsored messages based on the topic of public channels. That is, there will be no need to analyze data to display such sponsored messages.

Telegram has assured its users that their private data will not be shared with advertisers. At the beginning of the year, changes were made in the privacy policy of WhatsApp, many users started using Telegram. With many new features, Telegram is trying to create a large userbase like WhatsApp. This is the reason why Telegram is giving users control over their data, keeping more focus on privacy.

    Change chat themes in Telegram

In the last update, the eight themes launched by Telegram can be changed by applying them in different chats. All themes come with day and night versions and follow the night mode found in the app settings. These include gradient message bubbles, animated backgrounds, and unique background patterns. New interactive emoji with fullscreen effects have also been included in the Telegram app.

    Group admins get better controls

Telegram group admins have now been given a preview option with the 8.2 update. Users will be able to create group invite links for chats when needed, and with the ‘Request Admin Approval’ setting, admins can control who can join the group and view chats. Telegram is trying to compete with WhatsApp with new features. Telegram works on both desktop and mobile devices and offers many features that WhatsApp does not offer.

“Telegram has become an app downloaded more than a billion times worldwide and this data has been shared by Sensor Tower in the past. Launched in 2013, this instant messaging app is now competing with Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. Due to the privacy policy update received by WhatsApp and the controversy surrounding it, its userbase has grown rapidly.”
