New information has come out regarding the onset of corona virus. A study published in the journal Science claimed that a female vendor of a seafood market in Wuhan was the first to be found to be corona infected. Earlier, an accountant was believed to be the first patient of Corona, which fueled speculations of the virus leaking from the Wuhan lab. However, China has been denying the claims of the virus leaking from the lab.
Woman was sick before accountant – study
In his latest study, virologist Michael Warobe, chief of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Arizona, has said that the first corona patient may be a female vendor from Wuhan Market. The woman fell ill on December 11, 2019, while the accountant showed signs of infection several days later. This study strengthens the notions of corona virus coming from animals to humans.
Warobe argues that the community spread of the disease started in Wuhan’s seafood market. He has said that to reach this conclusion, he had seen the records of the hospitals and talked to the patients. Warobe has also said that there may have been a mistake in the initial chronology from the World Health Organization (WHO) team that came to China to investigate the beginning of the epidemic.
Corona’s beginning is still a mystery
The origin of Corona still remains a mystery to the world. Many countries, including the US, believe that this epidemic started due to the virus leaked from the lab of the Wuhan Institute of Virology. China, on the other hand, has come out denying this notion and says that no virus was leaked from the lab. Some people consider this virus to have come from animals to humans.
Last month, US intelligence agencies said that they may never be able to trace the beginning of the corona virus. However, he admitted that this virus has not been designed as a biological weapon. The US Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has said that the virus is likely to be transmitted from animals to humans and leaked from labs, but there is not enough information to reach any conclusion.
The World Health Organization (WHO) formed a new advisory group last month, which will go to China to investigate the origin of SARS-CoV-2, which spread the corona epidemic. This is the second time that the WHO has formed a team to find out the origin of the corona virus. So far international teams have visited China twice, but the source of the corona and the mystery of its origin have not been solved.
